The Vault
三井住友信託銀行が日本橋営業部を構える三井本館の館内にはクラシカルで美しいデザインが床や天井、インテリアまで一面に広がっています。その中で、今回暖簾をデザインさせて頂くにあたり、90年の歴史を象徴する米国モスラー社製の『東洋一の大金庫』をモチーフにしました。色は堅実な商売を表す濃紺とし、日本で最初の信託会社という誇りや、建物と街の持つ歴史を暖簾に表現しています。 （芝崎曜子/株式会社ソティエ）
The Vault
The main building of Mitsui, where the Nihonbashi branch of Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank is located, contains beautiful, classical designs spread over the floors, ceilings, and the entire interior. Upon designing a noren for this environment, I adopted the slogan ”The largest bank vault in the East” produced by Mosler Safe Company, which symbolizes the 90-year history of the bank, as a motif. I used dark blue to represent the solid business and tried to express the bank's pride in being the first trust bank in Japan and the history of the building and the town. Nihonbashi is the birthplace of the trust company industry in Japan. Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank was founded here in the 13th year of the Taisho era (1912–1926) as the first trust company in Japan. Inheriting that tradition, the company continues to operate today as the only “dedicated” trust bank in Japan.
